LUMA Beds - Redondo
LUMA Beds - Redondo
Redondo bed is designed by Patricia Urquiola (born 1961 in Oviedo) a Spanish architect, industrial designer, and art director. She designed this bed for Moroso with a wooden structure padded with polyurethane foam in varied densities, with removable upholstery in fabric quilted in a specific pattern designed by Patricia Urquiola. Slatted base supports are adjustable in height, feet are 70 mm high in black polypropylene.
Redondo is a collection characterized by the combination of two–part shape created by the padded shell and curved shapes enhanced by the total absence of edges, but above all by the three-dimensional geometry drawn with a thread, like the lines of a pencil. Like the other elements of the collection, namely sofas and armchairs, the bed is inspired by the upholstered interiors of the American cars of the 50s and 60s, the soft shapes of the body, the on-the-road comfort that accompanied the long journeys between the East and the West Coast.
